staying here was a joy as we were just a few steps away from the delightful doryman pub and grill, and the breathtaking gypsum mine lake was within a short walk, making our weekend strolls memorable and carefree.

The rooms were super spacious and comfy! Just a bummer about the outdated feel and no pool. Overall, not the best bang for your buck at a pricey stay. 😕

Impressive spacious rooms with excellent housekeeping, and a delightful continental breakfast (the variety kept me satisfied! ). The location is perfectly convenient, close to restaurants and the scenic views of the national park.
The reception staff could benefit from being more engaging and attentive to guests.

laurie’s inn had a great location, super close to cape breton national park. we really enjoyed the comfortable and clean queen room. the staff was very nice and accommodating, making our stay even better. the breakfast had a ton of options, which was a pleasant surprise!
the decor felt quite dated, though overall it didn’t take away from our experience.

missingWrote a review on 10 Augcomfortable bedsfriendly stafflimited breakfast optionsdry eggsclosed lobby
A clean room with comfortable beds made for a restful night. The staff were particularly friendly and went out of their way to assist. Breakfast options were limited, with dry eggs and unappetizing potatoes being the low points, although pancakes were enjoyable. A major inconvenience was the lobby closing at 6:00 PM, requiring metal keys for access to the exterior doors.

surprisingly good stay, but missed some extras
The room exceeded expectations in cleanliness and comfort. The mini fridge and microwave were convenient during our two-night stay. The breakfast offered was filling, providing a good start to our days.
Limited amenities in the lobby were noticeable, especially as it closed early.

The beds were comfortable, providing a good night's sleep after a day of adventure. Spacious room size allows for a bit of breathing room to stretch out and relax.
The building shows significant signs of age, with old, stained furniture and thin curtains that do nothing to block out light, making sleep difficult. Cleanliness is an issue—one guest found a dust bunny under the beds and described the floors as dirty. Additionally, housekeeping skipped the second night entirely, which is unsatisfactory, especially when returning from a long day outdoors. The breakfast options are limited and not particularly well-prepared, leaving much to be desired for the price paid.
